A Vision for the Future

More than just a building—we are creating a purpose-built sanctuary for worship, a hub for lifelong learning, and a home for community wellbeing in the heart of Heaton.

The Vision behind the Designs

For years, Jamia Usmania has been a cornerstone of the Bradford community. However, as our congregation grows, so does the need for a facility that can keep pace with our aspirations. Our new development is designed to address overcrowding while providing modern, accessible facilities for men, women, and our youth.

Key Features of the New Development:

  • Expanded Prayer Halls: Dedicated, spacious areas for both men and women, ensuring a comfortable and serene environment for daily prayers and Jumu’ah.

  • Contemporary Islamic Architecture: A landmark design for Heaton Road, featuring a modern minaret and a signature dome that blends traditional spiritual identity with contemporary British aesthetics.

  • State-of-the-Art Classrooms: Purpose-built educational suites to house our highly-rated Quranic classes, providing the next generation with the best possible environment for learning.

  • Holistic Community Spaces: Beyond prayer, the new building will house dedicated spaces for our viral ‘Pilates after Prayers’ sessions, youth clubs, and social support groups—transforming the mosque into a 24/7 community hub.

  • Sustainability & Accessibility: Built with modern materials and full wheelchair access (including dedicated parking and lifts), ensuring the House of Allah is open to everyone, regardless of mobility.

From the Fountain Inn to a Foundation of Faith

The site of the former Fountain Inn is being transformed. Where a derelict building once stood, we are laying the foundations for a £1.5 million project that will serve thousands. By moving from a converted space to a purpose-built facility, we are eliminating the “fussy” restrictions of the past and creating a landmark that the Heaton Estates conservation area can be proud of.

See the progress for yourself:

Our plans are already becoming a reality. We have completed the foundations and the steel structure. Now, we need your help to pour the floors and raise the dome.
