Construction Updates 2026
Jamia Usmania Mosque has embarked upon an exciting new community project to build a modern and purpose-built mosque, educational & cultural centre in Heaton Bradford.
Project Milestone: Phase 1 Nearing Completion & The Road Ahead
Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah (SWT) and your continued generosity, the New Jamia Usmania Mosque Development in Heaton has made significant strides over the past 12 months. What was once the site of the derelict Fountain Inn is now a rising symbol of our community’s growth and dedication.
Construction Progress: Where We Stand Today
We are pleased to announce that Phase 1 of our construction is nearly complete. To date, we have achieved the following critical milestones:
Foundations & Basement: All foundational work, including basement retaining walls and structural stairs, has been successfully executed.
Steel Structure: The full site’s steel structural frame is now in place.
Decking & Stairs: Metal decking for all three floors, along with PCC stairs and essential backfill, is finished or nearing final completion.
Of the total £645,000 cost for this phase, our community has already contributed an incredible £537,000.
The Next Step: Phase 2 (Target: £100,000)
Our immediate focus is now moving into Phase 2, which will physically close the building and begin its transformation into a functional House of Allah. This phase includes:
Concrete Pouring: Completing the concrete flooring across all three levels of the structure.
The Dome: Finishing the exterior construction of our mosque’s iconic dome.

As part of our Ramadan Appeal 2026, we are aiming to raise £300,000 to fund these next steps and begin work on Phase 3 (exterior walls, windows, and doors).
